Introduction

Hello, everyone.
I'm Jiwoo Seo.
I am a Ph.D. student in Information, originally from Seoul, South Korea, and currently studying in Tallahassee, Florida, United States.

In my research, I focus on the intersection of human-AI collaboration and ontology. I am deeply interested in what drives individuals to contribute to collaborative environments, such as biomedical or cultural heritage communities. This ties directly into the meaning of my name. Ji (智) for wisdom and Woo (佑) for help, as my ultimate goal is to help others by promoting meaningful knowledge sharing. Before returning to academia, I gained practical experience as an NLP researcher and an AI specialist librarian, which heavily shapes my current academic perspective.

I also believe that our academic strivings are closely tied to our emotions and motivations. Through this blog, I hope to share my thoughts on research, motivation, and the doctoral journey. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling to explore museums and cultural heritage sites. On a personal note, I am currently navigating a long-distance setup, with my husband and three lovely cats living in Canada, though I am hoping we can reunite soon.

Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to connecting!
